Yesterday was another hot & humid day in Minneapolis. 90’s and H-U-M-I-D. So humid, one of my favorite local restaurants, Trevail Kitchen & Amusments, closed for the day because it was too hot to have an enjoyable experience. YEP. That’s HUMID.
Then today, it’s supposed to slowly cool down until we’re in the low 80’s tomorrow. Earlier this week, we had hail. Minnesota weather – you never know what to expect. Until it starts cooling down, I’ve been wearing linen to keep my cool while working and running around town:
Because I run my own company, called RENT SODA, a business & marketing consulting company, my dress code varies depending on what I’m doing – typically business casual with lots of my personal flare injected in. Although this outfit is pretty casual, I did meet a client today in this outfit, and since their office attire is also business casual, this outfit was just perfect.
And although I didn’t think about it when we were taking pictures, this outfit is TOTALLY *cute* if you decide to take off the linen shirt – which was exactly what I did when we walked over to Roat Osha for dinner. I wished we had taken some pictures without the linen shirt, as the sheer green patterned tank is SUPER ADORBS.
Linen is such a great fabric. It stays cool and absorbs moisture quickly and redistributes it, so that you can stay cool. It’s the original moisture-wicking material. And because it’s a little bit harder material to work with (manufacturing-wise), the quality of the workmanship on a linen item is usually higher. I <3 linen in the summer!
And of course, the deets that complete the outfit:
What I’m Wearing:
Threads by Saks Fifth Avenue White Linen shirt similar here and here // Sanctuary linen cropped cargo pants in khaki similar here and affordable pair here // Vintage Gucci purse // (old) Michael Kors white stripy wedges sandals similar here // Olivaceous Sheer green print tank purchased from Covered in Uptown (hurry they might till have some left!) // Michael Kors White Polyurethane and Goldtone Mixed Metal watch // Bora Turkish Turquoise ring from Omorphia Boutique // Necklace by Jill Platner from Gallery 360 // Michael Michaud Peapod earrings // Vintage Mexican “coins” bracelet //
If you’ve been following my posts, you’ve probably noticed I have a slight love affair with vintage jewelry & bags. The coin bracelet was purchased from one of those vintage shows at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and it happened to be in the DOLLAR bin! That’s right, I scooped that baby up for a BUCK.
And speaking of vintage – if you’re digging my vintage Gucci purse (LOVE!), check out The Packing Stylist blog, where Las Bellas showcases her vintage Gucci purse. ADORBS!
Stay kewl lovecats!
PS – I’m TOTALLY BANANAS over linen!
