IT’S THE WEEKEND!
And what better way to enjoy a beautiful summer day, than riding around the lake! We live only a couple of blocks from Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis, where the entire lake and 3 neighboring lakes are paved with both a bike path and a pedestrian walking path. It’s BEAUTIFUL!
The little polka dot sheer top is one of my faves for summer, from Parc Boutique in Northeast Minneapolis. The longer back is so cute, as it flutters out behind me!

On our bike ride, we had to stop to get a picture of the lake with the Minneapolis in the background. Can you believe I LIVE right by this place? It’s so beautiful, and so easy to find inspiration all around!
This shot showcases how beautiful the polka dot top is from the back, with my little pop of NEON peeking peacefully through. What you don’t see is that it was a lot hotter than I had anticipated, especially after a bike ride, and I am sweating buckets.
We also stopped by one of the many little piers. They are so pretty. Hubby was a little embarrassed to be taking pictures while other people were around, so I started being even goofier, and trying to embarrass him MORE. I LOVE messing with his head!
Hubby: Why can’t you just sit on the bench like a normal person?
Me: What, this isn’t normal? Doesn’t everyone sit on the bench like this?
And because he likes to mess with my head (which I don’t like very much and don’t think is very funny…), he says:
Hubby: Why don’t you turn around. The light is *better* from the other angle.
Me: Um, what if I fall in?
Hubby: Don’t worry, I’m fast. I’ll catch you.
And this is the face of utter disbelief and sheer terror of the thought of even falling in and ruining my beautiful top. I might be grinning, but I was muttering underneath my breath and inbetween my clenched teeth: I seem to remember you being slow and with two left feet – how are you going to catch me if I fall?
Yep. So I got off the bench and decided to mess around with the canoes instead:
From left to right:
1.) Me: Can you see me now?
Hubby: No, the lighting is not right.
2.) Me: How about if I move over here?
Hubby: Nope, the lighting is still not right.
3.) Me: Oh wait, Let me adjust my belt – that might help!
Hubby: Um, maybe stupid question, but why would adjusting your belt help with the lightening?
4.) Me: Can you see me now?
Hubby: Um, yeah. Weird, that DID help. You should use that belt more often.
Me: (rolling my eyes and thinking inside me head): You should listen to me more often!
And then I saw the perfect spot amongst all the canoes – all sunny, no shadows. He’s gotta be happy with the lightening – right?
Me: I found it?
Hubby: Found what?
Me: The perfect spot with great lighting!
Hubby: And what are you doing now?
Me: Climbing onto it, it’s like a jungle gym!
Hubby: Get off there before someone sees you.
Me: But it’s so fun!
Hubby: What are you doing with your butt stuck out like that?
Me: Make sure you get a shot with my shoes, this pose is perfect to show the shoes!
Hubby rolls his eyes, but snaps the picture!
And the DEETS!
And right before hubby ran out of patience with me, he says:
Hubby: Look, you’re just too cute to break something while climbing all over the canoes. Can you get down from there?
Me: OK, since you asked so nicely, I’ll get down, but first, can you get a picture of my jewelry?
I love this CC Skye ring with all the jagged edges. Because my shirt & outfit is so sweet and innocent, I like to add at least one rought & tough detail, like this ring. It sends the message like:
“I might be sweet, but if I accidentally punch you in the face with this ring, it’s gonna really hurt.” AKA – “Don’t mess with me!”
And then if you look on the other hand, there’s a bracelet that says, “Live in Love.” Yep – that’s me. All kinds of controversy!
And these lovely shoes – comfy & perfect. Great for walking, great for bike riding, and great for climbing all over jungle gyms. I also walked my bike down a steep, grassy hill in these cork pumps, and didn’t slip, fall, break my ankle. THAT kind of comfy!
