I’ve been lazy ALL weekend, and I LOVE it. Here’s what I’ve been doing:
Laying around, enjoying the last of the summer, and playing with this little sweetie, all weekend long – my granddaughter!
I must have given away millions of kisses this weekend, but I never seemed to run out!
You know, motherhood was not fun for me. Because I had my kids young, I was always rushing – rushing from the house to the daycare, rushing from daycare to the university, rushing from the university to work, rushing from work to daycare, rushing from daycare home, rushing to set-up dinner, rushing to bath the kids before bed, rushing the kids off to bed, rushing to clean up the house, rushing to finish up my homework, and then crawling into bed to do it all over again the next day.
I was rushing to finish up my degree, rushing to get into the workforce, and then once I was there, I was just rushing to juggle it all – career, kids, life, self.
RUSHING so much, that most of my children’s childhood is a blur to me. The last twenty years – flew by in the blink of an eye.
As a new grandmother, I want to BE IN THE MOMENT. Enjoy every second with her, as I know firsthand – life goes by so fast and life waits for no one.
So this weekend, I haven’t had the computer on, barely checked my phone, and work waited until she went home.
All weekend, we played, laughed, giggled, snuggled, and kissed each other all weekend. We were like two peas in a pod. Or, as my husband put it, two peanuts in a pod!
And now that she’s gone home to her dad, my son, I miss her already!
Hope you’re enjoying a WONDERFUL SUNDAY!
Stop and smell the roses, or in this case, stop and kiss the BABY!

PS – I’m TOTALLY BANANAS over my little peanut!
